Informacje te dotyczą wyłącznie Słuchaczy zainteresowanych przystąpieniem do egzaminu końcowego.

Egzamin końcowy będzie kompleksowym testem pisemnym oceniającym znajomość literatury latynoamerykańskiej, jej głównych tematów, nurtów literackich i kontekstów historycznych. Test będzie miał formę eseju, wymagającego od Słuchaczy krytycznej analizy, interpretacji tekstu i porównań powieści omawianych w trakcie semestru.

Format i struktura egzaminu:

Część I: Analiza tematyczna:

• Słuchacz wybierze jeden z trzech tematów, koncentrujących się na kluczowych zagadnieniach, takich jak dyktatura, wygnanie, tożsamość, realizm magiczny czy krytyka społeczna,
• esej powinien uwzględniać co najmniej trzy różne powieści z programu i wykazywać dogłębną znajomość tematów literackich, kontekstów historycznych oraz technik narracyjnych.

Część II: Esej porównawczy:

• Słuchacz dokona porównania dwóch powieści na podstawie podanego pytania, analizując style narracyjne, rozwój postaci oraz wpływy społeczno-polityczne,
• w odpowiedzi należy uwzględnić solidne dowody tekstowe oraz krytyczne perspektywy.

Część III: Czytanie:

• analiza krótkiego fragmentu jednej z omawianych powieści,
• identyfikacja kluczowych technik literackich i wyjaśnienie ich funkcji w szerszym kontekście tematycznym oraz strukturalnym powieści.

This information is pertaining only to Students interested in taking a final exam at the end of the course.

The test for this course will be a comprehensive written exam that evaluates Students’ understanding of the Latin American novel, its major themes, literary movements and historical contexts. The exam will be essay-based and will require Students to engage in critical analysis, textual interpretation and comparative discussions of the novels covered throughout the semester.

Format and Structure:

Part I: Thematic analysis:

• Student will choose one out of three essays that focus on major themes such as dictatorship, exile, identity, magical realism, or social critique,
• the essay should incorporate at least three different novels from the syllabus and demonstrate a deep understanding of literary themes, historical contexts, and narrative techniques.

Part II: Comparative essay:

• Student will compare and contrast two novels based on a provided question, analyzing narrative styles, character development, and socio-political influences,
• strong textual evidence and critical perspectives must be integrated into the response.

Part III: Close Reading:

• Student will analyze a short excerpt from one of the assigned novels,
• he must identify key literary techniques and explain their function within the novel’s broader themes and structure.

• depth of analysis: insightful engagement with the texts and themes,
• use of evidence: strong textual support and critical references,
• clarity and organization: well-structured, coherent, and polished writing,
• comparative understanding: ability to draw meaningful connections between texts.
